About Us

After leaving the US Air Force in 1988, I went to work for my father in his debt collection agency.  Although I enjoyed working with my father, I grew to dislike the business.  In 2018, my wife Sandra and I began looking at other opportunities and decided to purchase a painting franchise which opened for business August 1, 2018.  My dad had already been retired for several years and the business would eventually close in late 2021.  After determining the franchisor model was not for me, we parted ways in September 2022.   In October 2022. Kūkū Painters was born.

Although I had no previous experience in the trades, I knew with my business background as well as personal experiences in dealing with tradespeople over the years, I felt I could offer something different that would give my customers a better experience.

I believe in keeping my customers well informed.  I believe in keeping my crews on a job site until the job is completed.  I don’t believe in taking large, up front, deposits. I’ve heard to many stories of contractors that disappeared after taking the deposit.  I never want my customers to worry about that.

There are a lot of great painters out there. Just as important to me is that they be great people.  I love when my customers tell me how nice the crew was.

Ultimately, I try to treat people how I would want to be treated.

After having spent over 33 years behind a desk in a job I was not particularly fond of, I now enjoy going out and getting to know my customers.  I am always your point of contact throughout the entire project.

I look forward to working with you on your project.
